
Social Communication – Journalism Faculty Masters programs awarded qualified registration by the Ministry of Education
The Ministry of National Education approved the Master's in Communication and Sports Management academic program to be offered by the Externado Social Communication – Journalism Faculty in an interdisciplinary approach with the School of Management. Likewise, the Ministry granted a seven-year qualified registration renewal for the Faculty’s Masters in Political Communication.
Intending to strengthen the postgraduate programs offering, the Social Communication – Journalism Faculty, together with the School of Management, obtained a seven-year qualified registration for the Master’s in Communication and Sport Management Program, issued by the Ministry of National Education (MEN), Resolution 014856 of 2019.
This postgraduate program, headed by journalist and PhD in Communication Sciences, Germán Arango, seeks to respond to the communication management training needs and the development of the high-quality skills the Colombian sports system demands today. It is the first master’s program in the country that marks a milestone in the field of communication, management, and sports knowledge.
Additionally, the MEN granted a seven-year qualified registration renewal to the Social Communication – Journalism Faculty Masters in Political Communication program, led by Hernando Rojas, PhD, director of the Political Communication Research Center, recognized in category A1 by Colciencias in December 2019, and coordinated by professor-researcher, Diego Mazorra.
True to its objective of expanding its communication and journalism postgraduate programs offering, the Social Communication – Journalism Faculty will continue to work on new programs responding to the new media and digital environment that are changing communication logic.
