Master’s in Social Responsibility and Sustainability
The aim of the studies in this program is Sustainability, understood as a model of development that points to contemporary society. This model is linked to the design and management of practices that are strictly socially responsible in all aspects including economic, social, and environmental. These practices must be at every level in public and private organizations, and organizations of civil society such as interest groups.
To understand the institutional framework in which Social Responsibility operates today at both international and national levels.
To understand the impact of organizations in the local development and their link to public politics.
To understand the idea “Triple Bottom Line” (social, economic, and environmental) that should be addressed by the organization through sustainable management.
To understand and take over the concepts and instruments about organizational theory, models of Social Responsibility management, evaluation of risks, impacts and opportunities, and methodologies of responsible investments and investments of impact.
The Master is completed on the Externado campus. The development of the program combines the balance of theory and practice permitting students to confirm what they have learned in the classroom with application exercises that reflect reality. The methodologies utilized for the completion of practices has been elaborated by the University and show satisfactory results. Practices include case studies, consulting, and exercises in businesses.
The Master in Social Responsibility and Sustainability is guaranteed through academic cooperation agreements with the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University in New York. This institution awards a certificate of studies upon completion of the program. The program also has agreements with other universities such as NEOMA Business School, Iesegs School of Management, and the Institute of Political Studies of Paris. These agreements allow for renowned international professors to share their experiences.
