Learn about the Individual Income Tax process for the taxable year 2018

The Public Accounting Faculty invites to deepen into this topic at a seminar to be held in Bogotá, Villavicencio, Yopal, and Pereira.

One of the taxpayers’ most anticipated obligations is, precisely, the filing of the renowned “tax return,” which may, or may not, be mandatory, depending on the requirements set forth by Colombian Law (Decree 2442 of December 2,7 2018).

To delve into this subject, the Externado de Colombia University Public Accounting Faculty has prepared an Individual Income Tax Seminar-Workshop, to be held in Bogotá, Villavicencio, Yopal, and Pereira.

This academic space will address, in a practical way, the most significant changes to this process, including determining the obligation to file, or not; establish formal obligations such as registration and update in the RUT (Single Tax Registration) and debugging of each of the certificates (work, pensions, capital, non-labor, and dividends and shares). Also, the meeting will address the processing of supplementary schedules, advances, tax withholdings, occasional gains, calculation of presumptive income, and asset comparison.

According to the tax calendar established by the National Tax and Customs Office (DIAN), income tax filings, under the id document number (cédula) system, will begin August 6 and run through October 17, 2019. It is important to point out that income tax filing and payment are two procedures processed according to the tax regime guidelines.

For Marco Aurelio Rodriguez, CPA specialized in private tax and finances, accounting and financial professionals have a great responsibility in the handling and advice given on personal or corporate tax matters. The expert pointed out that errors in the processing of a return or non-compliance with the established timetables may incur fines and penalties.

The Seminar will be developed under a methodology allowing attendees to understand and apply the topics analyzed. Additionally, there will be a space for questions and discussions, assisting in the full knowledge of the regulations; specifically, the reporting of the amounts stipulated in the DIAN 210 and DIAN 110 forms.

The educational quality and expertise of the Externado de Colombia University Public Accounting teaching faculty are aspects that make this academic unit stand out on current issues for professionals in the country.
