Civil Law Department Professor, winner of graduate thesis competition
She is Natalia Rueda, Externado de Colombia University Law graduate, with a PhD in Legal Sciences with an emphasis on Private Law from the University of Pisa (Italy), with an international doctorate mention and cum laude doctoral thesis.
Rueda is a professor at the Civil Law Department and Editorial Coordinator of the Externado “Revista de Derecho Privado” (Private Law Journal).
Additionally, she has obtained honors for academic excellence from the Externado de Colombia University and the “Mejor Saber – Pro” Award in Generic Competitions, Resolution 21398 of December 18, 2014, Ministry of National Education, Colombia, among other national and international accolades.
Professor Rueda was one of the winners of the graduate thesis and scientific publications competition “Analysis and contrast of gender stereotypes” for her research article “Domestic violence as a source of compensable damage,” published in 2018 in the Law and Political Sciences Faculty Journal of the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (vol. 48, no. 128), available here.
The article analyzes the possibility of compensating intra-familial damages in Colombia when derived from violence or abuse. The award, funded by the Tuscany Region in Italy, is conferred thanks to an agreement between the Regione Toscana, the Università per Stranieri di Siena, the Università degli Studi di Firenze, the Università di Pisa, the Scuola Normale Superiore, the Scuola Superiore di Studi Universitari e di Perfezionamento Sant’Anna di Pisa, the Università degli Studi di Siena, and the Scuola IMT Alti Studi di Lucca e Commissione Regionale Pari Opportunità.
