Autor: Julio Cesar Gomez
Revista: Cogent Education
Source use is one of the most challenging tasks a L2 writer learning to write academically has to face. Learning to use other authors’ voices while attempting to establishing their own is no easy task for academy newcomers writing an academic text such as a master’s thesis. This study followed the writing journeys as two ELT master’s students wrote their theses in a ‘home’, non-Anglophile context. A case study design identified the different journeys for participants’ development of sources use. Data gathering instruments were the drafts of the various components of their theses and a semi-structured interview.

Dialogic Justice in Transitional Contexts as a Driver of Inclusion and Local Ownership: The Recognition of Nature and Ethnic Territories Victimhood in the Colombian Transitional Justice setting
Autores: Nathalia Bautista Pizarro y Juliette Vargas Trujillo
Revista: Ragion Pratica
The jurisprudence of Colombian Transitional Justice (TJ) courts has been evolving towards alternative understandings of the relationship between humans and nature by granting victimhood status to ethnic territories and natural entities. These ground-breaking legal developments are the result of an innovative way of achieving justice that we call «dialogic justice». The inputs of communities from a bottom-up perspective have pressed for acknowledgement of the harm done to nature at a material but also, cultural and spiritual level. Through the testimonials of judges and their assistants, this article aims to elucidate the trajectory leading to these decisions and their meaning for TJ.

Monsters, Aliens, and Zombies: Figurations of Otherness in a Semiotic Key
