This book examines the reasoning practice of 15 constitutional courts and supreme courts, including the Caribbean Commonwealth and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. Enriched by empirical data, with which it strives to contribute to a constructive and well-informed debate, the volume analyses how Latin American courts justify their decisions. Based on original data and a region-specific methodology, the book provides a systematic analysis utilising more than 600 leading cases. It shows which interpretive methods and concepts are most favoured by Latin American courts, and which courts were the most prolific in their reasoning activities. The volume traces the features of judicial dialogue on a regional and sub-regional level and enables the evaluation and comparison of each country’s reasoning culture in different epochs.

Household growth and demographic transition in Latin America: implications for the analysis of housing needs

Reseña: The advancement of demographic transition brings immediate changes that shape household growth. This article examines the evolution of this process in Latin American countries and its implications for housing policy. Using census data from 17 countries in the region, as well as Spain and Portugal, this study employs a decomposition method to analyze the demographic factors influencing recent household growth. The findings highlight the diminishing impact of population growth itself. Furthermore, it underscores the increasingly influential role of age structure and behavioral factors in household formation. Since it is less predictable and closely linked to socioeconomic conjunctures, this last determinant introduces elements of uncertainty. As a result, the article concludes that enhancing methods to incorporate these components and their cyclical and uncertain trajectories into modeling household growth is essential. It also emphasizes the need to adopt housing policy planning strategies for the post-transitional future, where uncertainties will prevail.

Este artículo explora la relación entre el liderazgo, el Foresight y el Planteamiento Normativo, destacando la importancia de la visión del líder en la toma de decisiones. Se analiza la Teoría de Liderazgo de Rango Completo (TLRC), que incluye estilos de Liderazgo Transformacional, Transaccional y Laissez-faire. La competencia del Foresight permite a los líderes anticipar y manejar problemas complejos.
