Vivid brushstrokes of pink and deep blue contrast with the profound black of a woman’s face. This is Clementina Palacios, who spent part of her life working in the gold mines of Chocó and came to the artist’s home as a domestic worker. Through her, Vicky Neumann reveals a scenario where opportunities are not equal for all. It is a personal story that reflects the reality of an entire country unable to guarantee the fundamental principles enshrined in article 13 of the Constitution, which states that all individuals shall enjoy the same rights, freedoms and opportunities, without discrimination on grounds of sex, race, national or family origin.
