Mixed media (Rubber Polymer Tri)
30 X 30 X 12 cm
Laid on the floor like a grave, a small box containing a photograph of a girl with her father, a love note addressed to him, her white shoes and a doll resting on a now illegible letter, invites immersion into a childhood interrupted by armed conflict. The work is composed of reliquaries that confront the reality of violence: everyday objects belonging to the absent, preserved by families with affection and sorrow to remember their loved ones. Diettes pays tribute to life and dignifies the death of victims of violence, evoking the fundamental right against enforced disappearance enshrined in article 12 of the Constitution.
