This arrangement of battered shoes, collected from the streets and rubbish dumps of Barranquilla and displayed in an old wooden cupboard, evokes the production system and the condition of workers. The “Sindicato,” whose name alludes to the labour struggle, the degradation of the environment, the city and the surroundings, reflects on the conception of the individual as a replaceable and valueless piece. The work challenges article 25 of the Constitution, which protects the right to work under dignified and fair conditions.
