VIII International Philosophy and Contemporary Law Seminar – “Transitional justice. The Colombian model”
The Seminar, organized by the Externado University, the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law, and EAFIT University, will focus on current important and nationally significant issues.
For the first time in the competition’s history, over fifty students participated.

Call for proposals to be published in the Revista Latinoamericana en Discapacidad, Sociedad y Derechos Humanos
The Journal will accept articles until May 18, 2018. Selected proposals will be published in the Journal’s fourth volume, in August 2018.

The Colombian company, Comproagro, selected by Administration PhD students as an example of the UN Sustainable Development Objectives, was the winner of one of the 17 Aim2Floruish 2018 awards. This is the second time the Externado proposal obtains recognition.
The sampling is based on the book “La luz no se extingue. Historia del primer Externado. 1886-1895” (A light never extinguished. History of the first Externado. 1886 – 1895), written by Professor Juan Camilo Rodríguez, director of the University History project.
In 2018, the program reaches its fifth edition, and its Director, María Cecilia Otoya, highlights the achievements of the encounters allowing Business Administration Externadistas to make a difference.
The Externado Alumni Association and the Tourism and Hotel Business Administration Faculty present the “World Cuisine” program, a journey through the gastronomic culture of some of the countries that stand out for their traditions and culinary flavors.
The program addresses Children’s Rights issues from a multidisciplinary approach and provides the necessary tools to analyze, thoroughly, the processes and current problems in light of protection mechanisms and instruments, in the internal and international order.
Mariana Ramírez, Business Administration ninth-semester student, shares her achievements in this program, unique in Colombia. She tells, with pride, how she convinced Ana Fernanda Maiguashca, Co-Director of the Banco de la República, among other prominent women, to join a program aimed at young girls in a vulnerable district.

The Botín Foundation of Spain opens a call to university students in all Latin America to participate in an intensive program, developing a vocation for function and public service, through training in knowledge, skills, and competencies.
The program began the first week in April 2018, with 26 providers belonging to the supply chains associated with the Externado de Colombia Business Administration Faculty.
The Externado de Colombia University Cultural Decanatura invites university students throughout the country to participate in this year’s edition.

At the inauguration of our House of Studies new H and I buildings, Rector Juan Carlos Henao announced the publication of the book “La luz no se extingue, historia del primer Externado” (A light never extinguished. History of the first Externado), by Juan Camilo Rodríguez, director of the University History project. The book covers the history of the University from 1886 to 1895.
The Economics Law Department opens its doors to all second-year and higher Law students interested in taking this summer course imparted at the American University in Washington, D.C., United States.

The Cultural Decanatura opens a new call for all readers of the “Un Libro por Centavos” (Book for Pennies) collection, to participate, as critics and anthologists, from September 25, 2017, to January 15, 2018.

In July 2018, the Tourism and Hotel Business Administration Faculty will introduce the Advanced Management and Hotel Development Master’s Program, unique in the country, and one of the few in the world offering a curriculum with a Hotel development component.
