Safe network … Rights and responsibilities “I am Digital”

The Alumni Association and the Externado Telecommunications Law Department invite the Externadista community to this program.

Would you enter alone, without hesitation, into a dark and gloomy alley at midnight?  Similar is accessing and browsing social networks and different digital platforms without really knowing their dynamics, risks, possibilities, and opportunities.

According to the most recent report by the London firm We Are Social and Hootsuite, more than 4.5 billion people in the world connect to the Internet and dedicate more than two full days a week to online activities. Social networks occupy most of their time and are one of their favorite activities.

Intending that more digital platform users in Colombia acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to enhance their digital presence effectively, safely, and responsibly, the global Digital Citizenship program, “I am Digital,” created by Facebook, has been developed in the country.  The program aims to train and provide effective tools to interact safely in the different networks.

The above is why, specifically, the Alumni Association and the Telecommunications Law and ICT Impact Department open this new and helpful space to the Externadista community.

It is a totally free, online training program, consisting of four 2-hour workshops in which attendees can delve into topics such as: how to manage a better digital footprint; why it is essential to have a good online reputation; what are the primary rights and duties of a digital citizen or how to identify and help control misinformation and fake news.
