“Responsiveness Protocol in cases of violence and harassment in the Externado de Colombia University”

In keeping with its institutional values, our House of Studies issued the "Responsiveness Protocol in cases of violence and harassment in the Externado de Colombia University," affecting students, professors, employees, contractors, and other individuals who perform activities associated with the University, covered under its stipulations.

The Protocol’s objective is to promote healthy living in the Externadista community and the appropriation of the institutional values, such as respect for difference, tolerance, equity, commitment to ethics, sense of responsibility, solidarity, and critical thinking.

The types of harassment and violence defined in the Protocol are harassment, racial harassment, ethnicity, gender identity, and sexual orientation; discrimination; gender-based violence; sexual violence; sexual abuse; violence against women; and virtual harassment or cyber harassment.

Similarly, the document sets out the University response procedure on violence and harassment cases, requiring the commitment by the institutional and external entities, depending on the case.

Additionally, it defines strategies for prevention, including dissemination of the Protocol, the types of harassment and violence and its effects, and makes the community aware of the phenomenon, with a view to eradicating this covert or open behavior.
