Honorable Mention for the Externado: among the institutions with the best results in the Saber Pro – 2017
In total, there were 151 award-winning higher education institutions, of which 1524 undergraduate students obtained the best tests results.
On December 10, 2018, the Ministry of Education recognized the higher education institutions obtaining the top results in the Higher Education Quality State Exams, in generic and specialized competencies, in 2017.
The Externado de Colombia University (17th place) was among the award-winners, for the academic quality demonstrated by the results of the tests of Externado students who, at the time, were close to completing their professional studies.
It is important to note that our House of Studies’ training focuses on strengthening disciplinary and academic competencies, in addition to cross-cutting competencies that will serve students to achieve the best performance throughout their life.
Thus, the Externado’s effort to work together with its teachers, directors, and students to obtain the expected training goals. Part of this effort has been the continuous and systematic self-assessment and reflection processes on students’ competencies, among which predominate the learning of a second language, interpretation of situations or contexts, and the analysis of possible solutions to problems.
Without a doubt, this process produces its rewards, such as the Mention of Honor awarded the University for the excellent results obtained by the students in the State Saber Pro tests.
Among the educational institutions also recognized for their accomplishment are the universities Nacional de Colombia, EAFIT, Pontificia Javeriana, Antioquia, Distrital Francisco José de Caldas, Los Andes, CUN, ECCI, and the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario.
