Javier Uribe, 24 Years Training the Guardians of Cultural Heritage

Two professors gathered around un tintico [a small black Colombia coffee] – it doesn’t seem like a particularly exceptional moment. In fact, professors drinking tinto has for many years been a well rooted habit for its ability to provide us with meeting places, between the breaks from our academic activities, to reflect on education and – very often – on life itself. However, a thing that is different is when the motivating factor is grabbing a tintico with Javier Uribe: the experience is perceived differently.

Every 27th of January since 2012 International Restoration and Conservation Day is celebrated. The date was first established at the XVIII International Congress for the Conservation of Cultural Assets in 2011, in Granada, Spain.
