
Externadistas to receive international award for the promotion of Sustainable Development Goals
An Externado University professor and three graduate students will receive a business innovation award highlighting profitable businesses with positive community impact.
Gustavo Yepes López, director of the Externado Business Administration Management and Social Responsibility Program, together with Specialization students, Patricia Gil, Katerine Oviedo, and Erika Jiménez, obtained the Aim2Flourish award for the Sustainable Development Goals initiative promoting, in this case, the Colombian company Conceptos Plásticos.
Together with Ricardo Rico, Conceptos Plásticos Commercial Director, the Externadistas will receive one of the 17 Flourish Awards, for the conversion of plastic waste into an alternative system for building houses and other structures, constituting housing solutions for vulnerable communities, involving recyclers and other responsible organizations.
The company also gives added value to materials of difficult disposal and configured, at the same time, as a profitable business, and thus, generating employment.
The award ceremony will be held in the city of Cleveland, in theUnited States, June 14-16, 2017, at the Fourth Global Forum for Business as an Agent of World Benefit.
