Innovation has been defined as a complex and creative process essential to the development of the economy that understands the creation of a new product or service, the utilization of a new process in production or the introduction of a new method of organizational or commercial management (Schumpeter, 1976). Various descriptions of the phenomenon exist, emphasizing the variety in the possible manifestations of innovation.
The tendency to focus organizations and people towards innovation has been suggested as a necessity generated from the globalization process that has converted this capacity into a competitive strength for organizations facing the appearance of a growing number of emerging, competitive (Global Foundation for Management Education, 2008).
This new focus towards innovation includes specific demands for the education on management, establishing the need to educate managers who know and can implement administrative processes. These processes then contribute to the constant generation of innovation for the company so that it is competitive in the market through differentiating qualities (Flew T., Hemelryk S. y Xinchao W, 2006).
- To know in-depth the fundamental concepts of innovation, the management models of innovation and creativity, and all related concepts that assist with the understanding of the phenomenon and solve a specific problem in the business environment. This process always looks to have proposals that have a new or unknown form to the organization and demonstrates the novelty. They should have a positive impact in competition within the strategic frame, designed for high management.
- Launch innovation within the organization with the final objective to address present and future markets for the national and international development of the business. The program proposes to identify the resources from the relative perspective and the resources of necessary services for the development of central competencies that allow for the definition of cutting-edge positions.
- Exercise management control over the resources of the organization and to research the options of innovation in agreement with the model of the business in order to achieve control over the SWOT.
- Understand the different value links in order to align the strategic strengths of innovation keeping in mind the processes, products, services, business models, and organizational structure in order to generate synergies that optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed value and to make a difference.
