Professional who are able to plan, write, manage and analyze electoral and institutional campaigns. A person who has tools and abilities for decision making or developing academic research and consultancy in the field of representation, organization and electoral and governmental communication.
- This is the only program that provides an integral formation in the area of political marketing with a high degree of innovation and interdisciplinarity.The Specialization in Political Marketing and Campaign Strategies has a creative lab for carrying out workshops that allow for the practical application of the theory taught and it prepares students in aspects such as media management, social networks, image and public speaking.The program has national as well as international experts in political marketing, strategic communication and assertiveness with broad academic and field experience.Upon finishing the specialization, the student will be able to continue on to doing master studies in a shorter period of time, by taking the Master’s in Political Communication in the Universidad Externado de Colombia.
Due to being a program aimed at the professionalization of marketing and political consulting, the professors that participate in this program are well-known consultants at the national and international levels who work constantly in the consolidation of communication strategies for institutions and candidates. Some of our most recognized professors are:
- Ángel Beccassino, who has been responsible for leading election campaigns at distinct levels (Presidency, Senate, Chamber of Representatives, Governorships, Mayor’s, Councilmen, Members of the Assembly) in Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia;
- Virginia Garcia Beaudoux, who is a consultant in political communication specialized in the leadership of women in politics in addition to being a campaign strategist, she is a consultant for the PNUD (UN Development Program) and NIMD (The Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracies) in diverse countries of Latin America.
- Rodrigo Luna is currently working as a Marketing Expert in CSAC (Central, South America and Caribbean) for Apple. He has more than 10 years of experience in consulting on digital themes.

The Externado University of Colombia tends to generate strategies that support students in financing their education.
Upon finishing the specialization, the student can access the possibility of continuing their master’s studies in a shorter period of time by taking the Master’s in Political Communication in the Universidad Externado de Colombia. It is important to point out that once having finished the specialization, students have a period of two years to decide to continue onto the master program.
Additionally, we are part of ALICE, the Latin American Association of Election Campaign Researchers, which is the largest association in the region in the study of political and electoral communication.
