Diploma Course in Sport Management

With the interdisciplinary stamp that characterizes the University, the Faculty of Finance, Government and International Relations proposes this Diploma Course in Sport Management, a 100-hour course aimed at forming sport administrators that foster the sport industry in Colombia.

Today, football (soccer) schools are closing, the trainers and leagues do not have sufficient resources to operate, Public Policy in terms of sports does not seem to be generating much impact on athletes and the private initiatives to make the sports industry a driver of development have not resulted in the expected impact. This is a situation that is being replicated around the country despite currently experiencing a sporting boom and dealing with an ever-growing industry, the sports administrators are finding it difficult to carry out their projects successfully.

For these reasons and with an innovate and valuable proposal focused on an interdisciplinary method, the Diploma Course in Sport Management has opened its registration for all those professionals who are passionate about sports or who are interested in getting involved in a growing industry and who wish to strengthen and foster the sports industry in Colombia.

The Diploma Course proposes the construction of a sport project based on a theoretical and practical focus that takes into account the impact that disciplines such as Political Science, Law, Journalism, Administration and Communication have on the sport industry. Designed for professionals from the most diverse disciplines and knowledge, that are working on sport projects or also for entrepreneurs interested in launching a successful sport project.

The hours of the Diploma Course are also favorable for those attending as the course will take place on the campus of the Universidad Externado on Thursdays and Fridays from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am-1:00 pm the classes will be done online.

Upon finishing the course, those attending shall have acquired the practical and theoretical tools to become sports administrators in addition to understanding the dynamics that have an impact on the industry, they shall be able to launch and develop a solid sport project, in line with the needs and nature of the sport industry in Colombia.
