The Externado de Colombia University, with the support of the Alumni Association, will hold its IX Employability Day, which this time will have as theme “Professional identity in the digital age.”
To this end, events have been designed to provide and strengthen the necessary tools for students completing their last semesters’ studies, postgraduate students, and alumni in the process of seeking employment or wishing to make a career change, at a time where new technologies are a fundamental scenario for interaction with the productive world.
In the morning, a Word Coffee (network conversation) will be held, with assessment dynamics, so participants can explore, discover, and define their talents and strengths, as well as face weaknesses and gain confidence from self-knowledge, to make a positive impact on their search for employment opportunities. In the afternoon, there will be workshops on résumé creation, personal branding, LinkedIn, and interview – the four traditional interaction scenarios in a recruitment process requiring a periodic update to be assertive in the job quest.
All activities are carried out so that the experience allows attendees to develop, during the day, the necessary inputs to excel in their selection processes.
Likewise, there will be a business sampling where more than 25 entities from public and private sectors, interested in the Externadista talent, will offer information on their organizational climate, the key abilities in their context, and employment possibilities for practitioners and professionals.
Employability Day activities will take place in the new buildings. It will be an opportunity for visiting Externadistas to view the new spaces the University has designed, equipped with the latest technology, where, additionally, information on the entire service platform can be accessed from the Externadista Information Services Center (CISE), located on the first floor, Building, H.
The event will close with an Externadista Networking, convened by the Alumni Association, hosted by Chema Vich, who will talk about reputation in social networks. In this space, our House of Studies’ professionals will have the opportunity to establish ties and, thus, build a network strengthened by Externadista talent.
With a one-hour duration, held in four modules, guided by a professional who will carry out individual and group activities (maximum 40 participants per hour). The goal is to identify strengths and weaknesses through assisted evaluation, leading participants to a better performance in the selection processes, from their self-knowledge.
