Academic trip to China – 2019

This is a great opportunity to learn in depth about the culture, history, and the current political, economic, and social topicality of the Asian giant, accompanied by local guides.

The academic trip is organized by the Finance, Government and International Relations Faculty, led by professor-researcher Lina Luna, an expert on China.

The trip includes visits to Beijing, Xi’an, Lhasa (Tibet), Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, and Hong Kong, allowing experiencing the dramatic contrast between the large cities and the magical places in the countryside and Chinese mountains.

The 2019 trip, scheduled with the collaboration of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, will be for 20 days. The program includes a course on Contemporary China at the Latin American Institute of Beijing, ILAS, for which a certificate will be awarded.

Also included are several meetings with institutions involved in China and Colombia relations, as well as a visit to the innovative Suzhou Industrial Park. Additionally, the trip includes a full tourist schedule in each city, with visits to emblematic places and tickets to various shows.

Benefits for FIGRI students: Undergraduate students will earn academic credits for the trip.

Trip cost: $7,000 USD

Includes: Roundtrip tickets; 20 days in China; double room in 3 and 4-star hotels; breakfast, lunch; sightseeing tours, tickets to shows and tourist attractions; urban and interurban transportation; ILAS Certification Course on Contemporary China; local Spanish-speaking guides, including gratuities.

Does Not Include: Cost of Chinese visa, international insurance, dinners, excess baggage costs, and personal expenses.

The majority of the group will travel by Air France via Paris. The cost is fixed for the first 20 persons registered; others may have a slight variation in the ticket cost.
