New challenges for the study of International Relations

The School of Finance, Government and International Relations, RedIntercol, and the World International Studies Committee, invite to a workshop on the new challenges of International Relations teaching and research in the region.

With the aim of determining and sharing practices in the teaching of International Relations in Latin America and Colombia, as input to strengthen teaching and research in the discipline, the School of Finance, Government and International Relations, together with the Colombian International Relations Network (RedIntercol), and the World International Studies Committee (WISC), invite to a workshop on the new challenges of teaching and research of International Relations in Latin America. The workshop will be held in the city of Barranquilla, October 1-2, 2019.

Technological progress, increasing industrial production, as well as massive dissemination of information, compel International Relations academics to be at the forefront of new teaching methodologies to provide students theoretical and analytical inputs, enabling them to understand, in an interdisciplinary manner, what is happening in the world and their region, as well as analyze the impact of international events in their environment.

This academic exercise seeks to answer questions inherent to the discipline, from contemporary views and problematics. The workshop is open to professors and researchers involved in the International Relations field and whose area of research interest comprises International Relations teaching or theory, willing to discuss and contribute to the joint construction of experiences and knowledge.
