Discussion meeting on Governance of innovation in emerging economies
The Finance, Government and International Relations Faculty invites to the presentation of the research manual “Gobernanza de la Innovación” (Governance of innovation), edited by Stefan Kuhlmann, Professor at the University of Twente (Netherlands) and Gonzalo Ordoñez Matamoros, Professor of the Externado de Colombia University.
Presently, some emerging economies have improved their performance regarding investment in research, development, and innovation (I + D), as well as products and innovation capabilities. However, many of these economies are still living in extreme poverty, inequality, social exclusion, insecurity, and even, armed conflict.
This meeting on “Governance of innovation in emerging economies: challenges and opportunities for the new post-conflict and reconciliation agenda in Colombia,” seeks to contribute to the current academic and political debates by examining how theory, policy, and innovation practice interact. Thus, explaining the different configurations in countries characterized by having at least two verifiable realities.
On the other hand, the academic meeting will focus on the role of innovation governance and public policies, and also contribute to the understanding of governance challenges and explore options focusing on more efficient alternatives.
Special attention will be given to the new Colombian context characterized by the post-conflict and reconciliation agenda, and the role, knowledge, science, technology, and innovation, will play in this context.
