Webinar: The right to education in pandemic times
Date: 20 of april of 2021
Time: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Place: Zoom platform
The Externado de Colombia University and its Education Sciences Faculty invite the interested community to participate in this academic event.
Returning to classrooms in the alternate or face-to-face mode implies thinking about the right to education under the pandemic’s impact on the educational system’s main actors: students and teachers.
While the public opinion views fall on the need to return, or not, to face-to-face classes, it is essential to consider the relevance of the teacher’s voice regarding their expectations, fears, and concerns when addressing the right to education in the classrooms.
In turn, the Colombian educational system shows conflicts and differences between private schools’ situation in relation to public schools. This time, the webinars cycle: “From the Classroom” will address the issues raised from the teacher’s view and the different situations evident in private and public schools in the country when ensuring, at this time, children’s and young people’s right to education.
Special guests: Milena Rodríguez, teacher at the Germán Arciniegas School, and Víctor Correa, freelance journalist.
Moderators: Cecilia Dimaté, Education Sciences Faculty Dean, and Daniel Rueda Gómez, Social Projection Coordinator.
