Conference: International negotiation strategies

The event will be offered by Dr. Luis Alfonso Gómez, who will teach attendees how to successfully negotiate with persons of other cultures.

In response to the significant increase in commercial transactions and the importance the Latin American region has gradually gained in recent decades, the Business Law Department holds the Conference “International Trading Strategies.”

The talk aims to train executives and entrepreneurs on the way to handle successful negotiations with persons belonging to other cultures, in such a way they can achieve the best results.

The Conference will be offered by Dr. Luis Alfonso Gómez, Externado de Colombia Law graduate, with a Master’s in International Business and Management from the University of Westminster, in London. He also completed studies on International Negotiation Strategies at Cambridge University. He formed part of the Motorola legal team in England and is a member of the ICC Commercial Practices Sub-Committee. Recently, Dr. Gómez completed a Teaching and Research Negotiation certificate program at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He is the author of the book Negociación Internacional – Enfoque Estratégico” (International Negotiation – Strategic Approach).

Currently, Dr. Gómez is associated with the law firm Ricón-Cuellar, as a conciliator of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce Center of Arbitration and Conciliation, and as professor-researcher at the Externado de Colombia Business Law Department.
