Methodological keys for New Latin American Constitutionalism research

A new session of the Externado Constitutional Law Department workshops will be held on April 24, 2017.

The Externado Constitutional Law Department, together with the Universidad Nacional de Colombia PhD program, invites the academic community a new session of the workshop “Tricks of the trade: methodological reflections on socio-legal research.”

This time, the topic of discussion will be “Methodological keys for New Latin American Constitutionalism (NCL) research.”

The guest speaker is Marco Navas Alvear, Professor at the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, in Ecuador. Andrés Gutiérrez Beltrán, Research Professor at the Externado Constitutional Law Department, will act as moderator. The questions and answers to be addressed are:

  • What is the NCL?
  • What are the socio-legal vision contributions to understanding the NCL?
  • What are the NCL research methodological characteristics?
  • What are the impacts or social changes arising from the NCL?
