National 2018 Tax Update Meeting

The Public Accounting Faculty invites all interested in Bogotá, Villavicencio, Pereira, Bucaramanga, Tunja, and Barranquilla, to attend the meetings in these cities.

The 2018 Tax Update Meeting will address the compilation of the regulatory decrees issued by the National Government on the Tax Reform Law (1819 of 2016).

The meetings will also address: update on 2017 individual tax returns; withholding for liquid “basket” income, particularly income from work, capital, non- labor, dividends and partnerships; 2018 tax procedure update; the sanctioning regime of Law 1819 of 2016 (penalty for non- reporting exogenous information, untimely, inaccurate, reports); other obligations, and UGPP (Pension and Parafiscal Unit) supervision.

The guest speakers will be:

Alberto Valencia Casallas
Certified Public Accountant from the Universidad Central, with a Specialization in Tax Sciences from the same University, and a Specialization in Administration and Tax Audit from the Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano. He is a tax specializations professor, on subjects such as income, tax planning, tax accounting, tax audit, and withholding, at the Universities Externado de Colombia, Jorge Tadeo Lozano, ICESI in Cali, Sabana, and Santo Tomás.

Currently, he is an Audit and Tax Manager at Racafé y Cia S.C.A.

 Daniel Corrales
Law graduate from the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario and Tax Law specialist. He has taught undergraduate and graduate  National and International Tax Law at the Universities Externado de Colombia, Rosario, Sabana, Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería, Central, Santo Tomás  in Villavicencio, and the Universidad de la Salle.

Editor at LEGIS EDITORES S.A. Publishing of the works “Régimen Explicado de Renta” and “Manual de Retención en la Fuente” and collaborator  in the creation of the Legis Handbook for Small Business, the book “Responsabilidad de los Administradores y Visitas y Requerimientos Tributarios.” Currently, he performs as an independent adviser and is a member of firms such as Baker Tilly Colombia, Quiñones Cruz Ltda., Suárez Zapata Abogados, and Holguín Neira Pombo.

 Harold Ferney Parra
Attorney, with a specialization in Tax Law from the University of Salamanca. Dedicated to the tax field at territorial and national levels; postgraduate and certification programs professor in Bogotá at the Universities Externado de Colombia, Colegio Mayor del Rosario, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and Universidad Santo Tomás.  Also, is a professor throughout the country at the Universidad del Norte (Barranquilla); Universidad de Cartagena; Universidad San Buenaventura (Cartagena); Universidad el Sinú; Universidad Paulina (Montería); Universidad de Manizales; Universidad de Caldas (Manizales); Universidad Sur Colombiana (Neiva).  Additionally, he is a lecturer at the national level on departmental and municipal taxes and tax procedures for business, academic, institutional, and trade union sectors.

Humberto Ricaurte
Certified Public Accountant and attorney, with a Specialization in Public Finance from the Escuela de Administración Pública “ESAP” and Specialist in Taxation from the Universidad de los Andes.  He is a professor of tax-related topics at the graduate level at the Public Accounting Faculty of the Externado de Colombia University and is a tax advisor to national and multinational companies.

Marco Aurelio Rodríguez
Certified Public Accountant from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, with specializations in Taxes from the Universidad de los Andes and Private Finance from the Universidad del Rosario. He served as Administrator of Legal Entities, Deputy Administrator of 2004 Major Contributors, and Chief of the DIAN Control Division of 2003 individual and legal Major Contributors. Advisor to the DIAN Sub-directorate Office.

 Orlando Rocha
CPA with a Master’s in Financial Sciences and Systems from the Universidad Central. He has held seminars on Tax Updates, Transfer Pricing, Foreign Exchange Market, and Customs, at Ernst & Young Ltda. He has been a professor at the Universities Externado de Colombia, Santo Tomás, Jorge Tadeo Lozano, and CESA – INCOLDA.
