The Interdisciplinary Studies Institute and the Library invite the Externadista community to join the conversation on the movie “La Playa D.C.”
This semester, the Externadista Cinema Club presents the cycle “Everyday Narratives” – human stories that occur among the day to day complexity and the linear or discontinuous dynamism. Experiences of young people, adults, city and rural dwellers, families, and communities that create life systems with their particular affective codes or moral limitations.
In the movie “La playa D.C.” directed by Juan Andrés Arango (2012), we will meet Tomás, a young victim of displacement in Buenaventura, seeking a new life in Bogotá. Here, he ends up undertaking an exhaustive search for his brother Jairo, who has disappeared.
The film, produced by Colombia, Brazil, and France, was presented at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012.
Register here, until Wednesday, May 13, 2020.
