XXII National Congress on Energy Law

The Department of Mining Energy Law, Universidad Externado de Colombia, is organising the XXII National Congress in Mining Law. The aim is to debate and analyse the main themes of interest in the electrical energy, non-conventional sources of renewable energy, and energy transition sectors as well as in the petroleum and gas sectors.

In 2022, the Congress will be held virtually on 25 and 26 August. During these two days, the event will bring together experts who, by having an interdisciplinary perspective, will analyse the common intersectoral experiences and the responses from the Government, institutions, businesses, citizens, and academia for the efficient management of contemporary challenges. This relates to the following thematic axes:

  • Hydrogen
  • The development of comprehensive research pilot projects
  • The legal challenges for the energy sector
  • Challenges to develop energy justice
  • International arbitration in the energy sector
  • The Escazú Agreement
  • Offshore Wind Power
  • The role of regulators in the energy sector
  • The circular economy and energy
  • Mining and energy transition
