Virtual Conferences Cycle The future of Human Rights in COVID-19 times: Protection of Enterprises, State, and International Organizations”

The Latin American Observatory of Human Rights and Enterprises invites to this cycle of virtual conferences, aiming to present a series of academic reflections on the current situation of global society in the face of the pandemic.

Such problems range from proposing solutions to the pandemic in terms of health, the measures’ macro and microeconomic effects, to the impacts on specific groups of the population or the environment. Situations that are exacerbated in unequal societies, such as the Colombian, where the State faces the dilemma of applying exceptional intervention measures that restrict human rights (typical of the old Nation-States) or preventive self-regulation measures, such as self-isolation or social distancing.

Our goal is to go beyond the University and exercise our social and educational function by showing the various international visions facing the challenges COVID-19 has created for individual and collective Human Rights.
