“Amores Perros” by Alejandro González, at the Externadista Cinema Club

In the second half of 2017, a cycle of films on urban life will be screened, led by expert Mauricio Laurens.

In the second semester of 2017, the Interdisciplinary Studies Institute presents, in its Externadista Cinema Club, a series of films with an “Urban Life” theme.  This cycle comprises 15 important national and international full-length features and short films.

To analyze these productions, in their artistic and historical context, film critic and cinema professor, Mauricio Laurens, introduces the films and provides discussion parameters.

The Club meets on Thursdays, 3:00 pm, at the Library, Room 2.

Our next session, August 10, 2017, features the Mexican film, Amores Perros, directed by Alejandro González.  This film, released in 2000, was the winner of eleven awards by the Mexican Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences.
