Itinerant Accounting Ethics Chair
With the goal to promote the practice of ethical values in future public accountants, the Externado will be the headquarters of the fifth version of the Itinerant Ethics Chair, a project born from the Fiscal Audit training network.
The first session will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2017, within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the Public Accounting Faculty. The Chair is itinerant, as it takes place in each of the network participating universities. The program encompasses nine sessions during the academic semester.
Participating universities include the Central, Javeriana, Libre, Militar Nueva Granada, Piloto de Colombia, Corporación Universitaria Republicana, and Cooperativa de Colombia.
The meeting aims to raise awareness and understanding of the definitions and applications of the public interest concept; the ethical principles governing the profession; the regulation of behaviors from an ethics perspective; the methods to identify and analyze ethical dilemmas, and disciplinary methods to investigate and assess violations.
The topics for the first 2017 period are directed to 196 students pursuing their last semesters of studies. Students will have direction and orientation by eight professors associated with each of the participating institutions who will share, in addition to knowledge, interpersonal relationships, and strengthen the joint work in the construction of knowledge.
