Research Center on Philosophy and Law
The Research Center for Philosophy and Law was established in 1994 at the Criminal Law Department of the Externado de Colombia University. Today, the Research Center is an autonomous body within the Externado Law School.
Since its origin, the Research Center for Philosophy and Law has promoted the most relevant developments in Philosophy of Law and Criminal Law Theory publishing a vast number of scholarly texts and contributing to deepen the academic dialogue by means of well-received events.
Currently, The Research Center for Philosophy and Law projects investigations in concrete areas of Philosophy, Legal Theory and fundamental questions related to Criminal Law Theory and International Criminal Law. Additionally, it seeks to strengthen academic bonds and to generate work lines with other Research Centers in related topics at international levels. In this sense, it continues with its outreach tasks and translation of important works of reference in its academic areas. At the same time, it organizes seminars to promote academic discussion.
