Poetry and Politics at the Externadista Poetry Club
The Library and the Cultural Decanatura invite to the sixth session of the Externadista Poetry Club on Friday, April 6, 2018.
The Externadista Poetry Club program comprises eight meetings between February 23 and April 20, 2018. These encounters show different forms of versifying to understand “the inside of poetry,” its movement, and its musical strength.
Poet Álvaro Miranda is responsible for promoting the approach to this narrative genre, with discussions on topics such as the origins of poetry, the emergence of free verse, and the image as a continuation of a poem’s sequence, among others.
On Friday, April 6, attendees will delve into political poetry by exploring texts by various authors who through their writings condemn and reject injustice.
