Externadistas among the finalists in the UNWTO Hospitality Challenge

Peter Castiblanco and Ludwing Diaz, graduates of the 1992 and 1993 Tourism and Hotel Business Administration undergraduate program, and Diego Camacho, a 2003 graduate of the Certification in Kitchen Management continuing education program, were finalists in the Hospitality Challenge organized by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and Sommet Education.

In 2018, these Externadistas undertook a novel business model providing social security to individuals who, historically, worked unofficially, and this way, generated decent employment opportunities and income for their families. Additionally, they incorporate technology to facilitate contracting logistics. The company, called HUTS (Human Talent Solutions), was shortlisted among the 30 finalists of the 588 initial applicants. HUTS (Human Talent Solutions) allows companies to enter to find qualified personnel or collaborators to find a job with good working conditions in the tourism and hotel sector. HUTS processes are carried out, efficiently and organized through its APP.

The award for being among the best 30 projects worldwide was a full-board scholarship for one of the founding partners to study for a year in Switzerland or France.

Sincere congratulations to our Externadistas.
