The founder of the Association was the Externado University. His director was it president between 1957 to 1963 and 1971 to 1977.

Unión de Universidades de América Latina, UDUAL.

The director of the Externado University was president of UDUAL between 1976 and 1986.

The director of the University was main member of the Council of Administration between 1985 and 1995.
